Remember that game in school where someone writes a sentence on a piece of paper, folds it and passes it on so each person writes a new sentence based only on the sentence before?
Well, this is a Twittified version!
By participating you agree to our terms.
Yes, yes. There must always be rules. (The game wouldn’t be as much fun if we didn’t know how to play!) But we promise to keep them brief.
Here they are:
- Follow @sentencegame on Twitter to get started. This will allow you to receive the most recent sentence. (If you don’t know what this means, sign up for an account on Twitter and then click on help. It will look alien at first but you’ll pick it up soon enough.)
Example: sentencegame 1-Little Red Riding Hood went walking through the forest.
- Mention @sentencegame in your tweet to add your sentence to the running. Keep it under 100 characters whenever possible (to give RT room) and label the intended sentence number.
Example: You @sentencegame 2-Then she met a BIG, BAD, WOLF!
- RT (Retweet) other tweets to cast your vote. Be sure to include @sentencegame!
Example: You @sentencegame RT @othertwitterusername 2-She was going on a picnic.
- The sentence with the most RTs each week wins and becomes the next official sentence.
Example: sentencegame 2-Then she met a BIG, BAD, WOLF! @You
- The fun starts all over again for at least 20 sentences. And it goes on in perpetuity (or until everyone gets bored with this whole thing.) Check out the results of our community story.
That’s about it! So simple it must be genius, right?
Right?
Um, why are you still reading this? Go play!
